Volunteers needed for Town Boards
A major part of the Town of Johnstown governance, three Boards comprised of volunteer citizens who reside in the Town, make decisions on requests from individuals and businesses within the Town of Johnstown.
The Town Planning Board, meeting monthly, ensures that new construction and modification to existing structures follow the guidlines in place within the Town.
The Town Zoning Board of Appeals, meeting monthly when necessary, acts on requests for exceptions to Town zoning ordinances.
The Board of Assessment Review, meeting in May each year, considers requests for changes in property assessments in the Town.
Please volunteer your time for one of these Boards. You would start as an alternate member, filling in when the absence of a regular member occurs, and learning the workings of that Board.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Supervisor Jack Wilson at Town Hall.
